Been here several times for breakfast. Love their biscuits and gravy and also the Spanish omelette. It's not fancy but it is well established and I just felt comfortable going there. Easy parking and plenty of seating. For breakfast it's definitely worth a try.

There are so many options to go to and so many variety of diners in Lakewood. I don't live in Lakewood but been to many diners. This diner by far I have seen has the oldest and original decor probably from the first time it open. Even the carpet still has the estate sale smell to it. The bathrooms were missing paper towels and using the cheesy watery refill soap. I am not a snob for decoration or how nice the place looks. I am for what most of you yelpers look for, the quality, taste and service. I was greeted by a very nice waitress and I was seating at the stools. Asked if I wanted water right away and attended to my needs of coffee instead. Order the Joe's burrito and about 8 minutes later I received a very big well dressed smothered burrito. Everything was delicious other then the potatoes. The green chile was smoking good, competition good. Joe's burrito comes with hash browns, ground beef, scramble eggs, and lots of awesome green chile and cheese. Will I come back again? Yes I would and I most likely order the same burrito with no potatoes and instead put refried beans. The coffee was decent and the burrito was great. $10 was my ticket, don't hesitate to try it.

I want to keep this place all to myself so I'm tempted to tell you stay away. I love the classic diner feel of this place. Delicious food - love their green chili. Coffee is spot on. I love the sassy but attentive wait staff. This is my go to hangover spot.

Don't order anything from joes cafe because they are rude over the phone, they just take your order and hang up on you!!! That's not good service so stay away from joes I hate my customers cafe! They made me give it at least a star or I would have not given it one at all!!!

As I was stuck getting my radiator repaired across the street, I came over for some breakfast. Wonderfully friendly staff and atmosphere, fast service and good food. I had the huevos rancheros and was pleased.

My brother, sister-in-law and I ate here last summer and had the regular egg breakfast that was not bad. Based on that experience, I decided to drop by for breakfast on the way to work the other day. What a mistake. I love Huevos Rancheros and when I saw that it was the 'special', I decided to order it. Unfortunately, the food was just awful. Instead of topping tortillas with eggs and a small amount of sauce, my eggs were served swimming in watered-down gloppy green chili. The cook had ladeled huge amounts of over the eggs, potatoes and beans. Not only did it taste bad, it was soupy and made the rest of the food inedible. Additionally, the over-cooked 'fried' potatoes had a metallic taste. The warm tortilla was served on the side. It was the only part of the meal that was edible. No more chances, this place is NOT worth a visit. And I will not be returning.

I really liked this place. What sealed the deal initially were interactions with the friendly staff. Our waitress was patient and friendly sitting down with us to take the order. On top of that they have super fast service; our order was ready within 7 minutes! My wife loved her pancakes with whipped butter. They were light and fluffy, just the way she likes them. I had the rellenos with eggs and hash browns. The rellenos were crispy, and the eggs were done right. Couple that with reasonable prices, and I'm definitely headed back!

Went here with my dad for breakfast. I had commented how it was always crowded and he wanted to try it. We both ordered the steak and eggs special. Normally, any time I have ever ordered steak and eggs....the steak is a cheap, tough, piece of meat. This was cooked to order, tender, and flavorful. The eggs were cooked to order as well. This was a very nice surprise and the price was great!

Not bad for a neighborhood diner. I would recommend staying away from the chefs favorites. The biscuits and gravy were really good. The portion sizes could be a little bigger for the price. Staff is friendly but there aren't very many of them. I would probably come back and order off their Mexican food menu next time.

I eat here just about every week and I love this place! Great Food! Hot and Delicious! I have tried about 50% of the menu and so far everything is fantastic! Service is great, the staff is friendly and attentive! Keep up the good work! I love the early bird breakfast special at $4.99, great value for the amount of food!

Basic diner food. I've had worse. but the setting is pretty gross...nasty carpet that smells about 40 years old, and a waitress who I heard giving three different people a hard time about saying "please". Yes its nice when people say please but seriously if it bothers you that much you need to get out of the service industry. Carpet from 1972 ...overall it did not feel like a place that had character, it just felt tacky and like it belonged in a opening scene of Deliverance..

Went back and this time I tried the breakfast burrito with bacon. It wasn't bad.... yeah sorry, but it wasn't really all that good either. I guess it doesn't help that I've had three other breakfast burritos in the past two weeks that were quite a bit better than this one so by comparison.... Joe's came in fourth. If it was a one horse race, they'd be first... well actually and last too but that's neither here nor at one of the other joints which I'll be forced to go to in the future. Sorry Joe's. Let's keep it a three star.

omg the best place possible for a hangover. We were all opposed to a chain like Denny's, so i used my trusty yelp app on our way to Denver Law school and this place popped up 2mi. before we exited. It was fate because I was craving pancakes. My roomate wanted steak (really random), and the others wanted bacon/breakfast burritos. Right off the exit, we were seated right away, and somehow i got a) my pancake combo for $7.99- 2 pancakes with potatoes, and 3 eggs b) the others got steak and rice (Mexican style breakfast), a drenched breakfast burrito with bacon, and another breakfast burrito with carne asada (also drenched in chile, cheese, and sauce). Portions were gluttonous and i must've used half the syrup in the bottle (which was hot). the 4 of us also got coffee and I picked up the tab for only $35. I almost got their "cinnamonster" (cinnamon roll french toast with carmel and pecans) but none of us had room for desert. Staff was very chipper and friendly, and unlike dinner the night before, the patrons did not seem offended by our meal conversation. Decor is simple and typical of a roadside diner. Another nice mom n pop place.

Food is great. We have been there every weekend since the first time we tried joes about 2 months ago! The servers are really nice and friendly but a bit slow at times. But we don't mind waiting and it's nice when we are talking and no one walks over and interrupts us! We will for sure keep going every weekend.

Oftentimes, these little diners prove to be diamonds in the rough. This was not one of those times. It wasn't bad, per se, but it was nothing I'd write home about. My husband's gyros weren't flavorful and appeared to be the kind that came frozen in strips, my corned beef hash was kinda oily...oh, we did have good toast. So, yes. Very pro-toast here. However, There was no real camaraderie with the staff, and there were several flies buzzing around in the restaurant. I suppose it would work in a pinch, as no one was rude, and the food wasn't horrible, but as the rating implies, "Meh. I've experienced better." My thoughts exactly.

The 5 stars is for being exactly what it promises to be - a dive cafe'. It's also because of the good food. It's pretty close to home and is a buddy's favorite spot, so I eat there at least a couple of times per month. I've never had anything but the breakfast there (they do it all day). It's always been so good I never bother trying anything else. I've never had better bacon. The omelets are awesome. The pancakes are quite good - and I don't usually eat pancakes. Warm syrup is a nice touch. They do Mexican too, but I haven't gone there yet - maybe soon. I just wish they were open later. They close at like 3. A+ for consistency. Prices are good. Food is tasty and plentiful. What's not to like?

Oh my God! This place is amazing! I almost hesitate writing a review because I would prefer that no one else knows about it! My BF and I showed up at 10:30 on a Saturday morning, and there was plenty of room and no wait. We were seated, and I ordered the special of cinnabuns made into french toast, which came with bacon, eggs, and possibly hash browns. The BF got the breakfast burrito which was huge! He claimed it was delicious although I find that hard to believe... being super white and from the east coast Mexican style breakfasts are not my thing. And our whole bill was less than $15. You can't shake a stick at that.

This small restaurant has great food at very affordable prices. They always have daily specials written on the blackboard. The wait-staff knows us (me and my hubby), so they great us with a friendly 'Hello' when we walk in. My favorite things to order are the coffee and the oatmeal with raisins. If you order something healthy like oatmeal, you don't have to feel guilty afterwards about what you just ingested! TIP: After you finish your meal, go next door to the Oroweat/Bimbo Baked Goods Outlet and buy some bread at ridiculously low prices. Talk about power-shopping. . .
